Biological Age

£199.00

Your chronological age is how long you have been alive. Your biological age is how old your body actually is at a cellular and functional level — and the two aren't always the same. The choices you make every day — what you eat, how you move, how you sleep — all shape how your body ages. Knowing your biological age gives you something most health checks don't: a single number that reflects your overall health picture, one you can understand, act on and track over time.

What can I expect from Biological Age?

Your biological age score is generated from your existing blood markers using a model trained on 306,000 UK Biobank participants. Humanity Age generates a single biological age score from routine blood markers. It shows whether your body is ageing faster or slower than expected — a number you can understand, act on, and track over time.

This profile will tell you if you have diabetes (HbA1c) - there are over 1 million people with diabetes who do not know they have it. Finding out will enable you to make the lifestyle changes and start treatments that will significantly lengthen your life and improve how you feel every day.

It includes a full cholesterol profile analysing over 5 parameters. Over 40% of adults have high cholesterol levels which is a very significant risk factor for heart attacks and strokes. The only way to detect if you have high cholesterol is through a blood test. It will enable you to make the changes you need to reduce your risk of some of the most common causes of death.

Generalised inflammation is tested with a high sensitivity C-reactive protein level. Firstly, Inflammation is bad for your heart. A high CRP level can also indicate the presence of a very wide range of other health problems like autoimmune disease, bacterial infections, osteomyelitis, pelvic inflammatory disease and inflammatory bowel disease.

*Humanity Age is a wellness and preventive health metric. It is not a diagnostic tool and does not constitute medical advice or replace clinical judgement. Results should be considered alongside a full clinical assessment.

What gets tested?

Cholesterol (6 health indicators)

High cholesterol levels can cause your arteries to become blocked - leading to coronary heart disease, heart attack or stroke. Finding out about high levels of cholesterol can help you to make the positive lifestyle and dietary changes needed to improve your chances of a long and healthy life.

Diabetes (1 health indicators)

Checking your levels of HbA1c is a way of confirming if you have (or are at risk of developing) diabetes. Unmanaged or undiagnosed diabetes is one of the leading causes of mortality. For anyone who already knows they have diabetes, regular HbA1c checks are essential to monitor progress.

Inflammation (1 health indicators)

Inflammation is a process by which your body's white blood cells protect you from infection from external bacteria and viruses. Checking for inflammation can help diagnose a wide range of conditions.

How do I read my results?

Laboratory results are provided with reference ranges which are based on the normal test results of a large group of healthy people from the same age group and gender as yourself.

Sometimes, healthy people get results outside the reference range, while people with health problems can have results in the normal range. If your results fall outside the reference range, or if you have symptoms despite a normal result, you may require more testing or wish to discuss the result with your GP.

For simplicity, we provided your results graphically, so they are easy to understand. Any result flagged amber is outside of the standard range. Normal results are in green.

If you see ‘invalid result’ on any of your report pages, it’s nothing to worry about. Please call our Customer Service team on 0207 183 6122 and if required we will be able to arrange another blood test appointment free of charge or post you a home testing kit which you can post back to our laboratory
